Opening Credits Vs. Title Sequence

I started researching my three questions of the day. First, I researched, "What is the purpose of Opening Credits?". I didn't find much information since everything was a Blog, so instead, I researched "What is Opening Credits?". I found much more information from:

Opening Credits are what is shown at the beginning of a movie or show and list the most important roles of the production.

Then I researched my second question, "What is the difference between Opening and Title Sequence?" but nothing came up so I decided to make my own response by just researching "What is a Title sequence?" I got some great resource from:

A title sequence is the presentation of the movie/shows title and key production crew and cast members, using conceptual visuals. It engages the audience to want to see more by allowing them to see what is about to start. A title sequence is to set the tone of the movie you are about to see.

A few techniques many uses in creating an opening sequence are:

  1. Narrating
  2. Flash forwarding
  3. Montage
